In the alchemy of consciousness ... the search continues until the evolution of time and thought completes. For some this is 2012. For others, there is no 'time' ... we are virtually experiencing in the physical from 'above.'
On this date in 1280, alchemist Albertus Magnus died. Reading his file took me on a journey through my files linked to alchemists and related, with an emphasis on Hermes, aka, Thoth, and Mercury. Mercury Retrograde ends Friday November 17th as another week comes to a close and time accelerates to the end of another year... You can feel it cycling to a close, and with that dis'closure' of things hidden since the beginning of time. I added a new file Hermes Trismegistus linked with the Emerald Tablets of Thoth.
Everything always reverts back to Thoth, highlighted in the next 6 years as Quetzalcoatl, creator of the Mayan Calendar, -, > Mayan Calendar Prophecies or closure on the winter solstice, December 21, 2012.
Alchemy, as a term, goes back for centuries and always having meaning in science and metascience. There are those of us who hear the word alchemy and recognize its significance in the evolution of consciousness. It is the 'key'.
Western alchemy has always been closely connected with Hermeticism, a philosophical and spiritual system that traces its roots to Hermes Trismegistus, (Thoth or Z) a syncretic Egyptian-Greek deity and legendary alchemist. Emerald Tablets of Thoth These two disciplines influenced the birth of Rosicrucianism, (Rose bloodline, Flower of Life) an important esoteric movement of the seventeenth century. In the course of the early modern period, as mainstream alchemy evolved into modern chemistry.
Today, the discipline is of interest mainly to historians of science and philosophy, and for its mystic, esoteric, and artistic aspects. Nevertheless, alchemy was one of the main precursors of modern sciences, and many substances and processes of ancient alchemy continue to be the mainstay of modern chemical and metallurgical industries.
Although alchemy takes on many forms, in pop culture it is most often cited in stories, films, and games as the process used to change lead (or other elements) into gold.
As we move toward that end, we become the alchemists, (golden or white light), finding ways to broadcast our messages to help others.
