Halloween Week 2005

October 25, 2005 - Last night I had the strangest dream ... I was back in the hospital in lower Manhattan, near Ground Zero, where my grandson, Noah, was born on 9/23/05. In my sleep/dream, I could hear the rain outside - presently creating flooding conditions in the northeast - flood stories - as the Earth changes escalate. In the past year we have experienced an underwater earthquake in Indonesia which cracked the tectonic plates -- followed by a tsunami. Europe experienced flooding during the summer monts. In the US we have had recording breaking hurricanes, the most powerful on record - with names like Katrina, Rita and Wilma.

In my dream. as I walked along the hospital corridor, I sensed that my pocketbook felt lighter. I looked inside and discovered that my wallet was missing, and I had no ID [identity].

Paniced, I found myself in the local police station, reporting my loss of identity. Several police officers were there, busily helping other people. They told me I had to wait my turn, as so many people were currently going into 'witness' protection 'programs', and needed new identities so they could move on. (great metaphors) Then I 'woke up'!

Halloween Magic - Identity Crisis

That day I spent time in Connecticut with two of my grandsons, two year old, Matthew, and one month old, Noah. Matthew and I carved a pumpkin and prepared the seeds. Later, I took 2 pictures with Noah, after he awoke from a long sleep.

DNA - Slaying the Dragon

Eye of Newt

The word eye is central to the focus of my theories on creation. Just last month I was on the Jon Stewart show discussing Creation, through the Eye.

On Halloween, Z suggested I write about, 'Eye of Newt'. This brought to mind witches with cauldron, adding eye of newt to their magic potents before casting spells. Alchemy is considered, by some, to be magic. Magic takes us back to witches, on this Halloween.

A search of the word newt produced the following results ... neuts are salamanders, having the ability to regenerate limbs, eyes and spinal cords.

Alchemy is about transition. A salamander is the transitional stage of the dying Phoenix in the flames - who becomes a salamander - then rises from the ashes. The salamander could be charmed by witches, or Magi, to start fires wherever they wanted. The mythical salamander resembles the real salamander somewhat in appearance, but makes its home in fires, the hotter the better. (Similarly, the salamander in heraldry is shown in flames, but is otherwise depicted as a generic lizard.) Early travelers to China were shown garments which, or so they were told, had been woven of wool from the salamander - the cloth was completely unharmed by fire. The garments had actually been woven from asbestos. Later Paracelsus suggested that the salamander was the elemental of fire. These myths originate in Europe from the fire salamander, 'Salamandra', which hibernates in and under rotting logs. When logs were brought indoors and put on the fire, the animals mysteriously appeared from the flames.

... Out of Egypt we next find the 'All Seeing Eye' - Eye of Ra - Eye of God - Sun God - etc. Another member of the Enead - the Egyptian mythological pantheon - was the sky goddess, Nut, Nuit pronounced Noot! Eye of Nuit! Eye of God! All Seeing Eye! Eye of Providence. Eye in the sky! Phi in the sky - Geometry of creation!

My next search for 'newt' took me to Newt Scamander from the 'Harry Potter' series.

Newton "Newt" Artemis Fido Scamander, Order of Merlin, Second Class is a fictional magizoologist from the 'Harry Potter' series of books. He was born in 1897 (recall that people live longer in the wizarding world). He was interested in fabulous beasts and was encouraged by his mother, an enthusiastic breeder of fancy Hippogriffs. After he graduated from Hogwarts, Scamander joined the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. After two years in the office of House-Elf Relocation, years he describes as "tedious in the extreme," he transferred to the Beast Division, where he was rapidly promoted due to his great knowledge of magical beasts. He was almost solely responsible for the creation of the Werewolf Register in 1947 and says he is proudest of the Ban on Experimental Breeding, passed in 1965, which prevented the creation of new and untamable monsters within Britain. Scamander's work in the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau led to many research trips during which he collected information which he published in a book: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, now in its 52nd edition. Now retired, he lives in Dorset with his wife Porpentina and their pet Kneazles: Hoppy, Milly and Mauler.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Opened 11/17/05

Continuing on with my search for 'eye of newt', I should have realized this quest would eventually take me to one of Z's more famous roles, William Shakespeare. Here we find 'eye of newt' in his shortest tragedy, Macbeth. Here's an online version of Macbeth. [Check out the quote in Act 4 Scene 1.]

In the cauldron boil and bake;

Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,

This line, uttered by the three ugly witches in Macbeth as they stir their boiling cauldron, is one of the most familiar phrases associated with traditional witchcraft. It is the infamous recipe for spell-casting, curse-inducing witchery. People believed in witches in Shakespeare's time, and thought of them as powerful practitioners of evil. Yet while these witches in Macbeth did possess the ability to conjure up spirits, they did not really control Macbeth but rather tricked him into acting in certain ways. Having correctly predicted he would be king, they now produce ghosts who allow him to conclude that he will not be killed by anyone. These ghosts have been called into our world by the use of the infamous recipe given above, which continues with "adder's fork and blind-worm's sting, lizard's leg and owlet's wing," and an assortment of other colorful ingredients.

Stirring the pot a wee bit more, we find Z in the role of the Roman god Jupiter [Greek - Zeus], in conjunction with his god roles in the Middle East [highlighted in Sumer and Egypt] - in Mesoamerica as Quetzalcoatl -- in the Americas as Kokopelli among others around the world -- myth and magic -- good and bad gods -- the Trickster having fun in duality --- Reality as Magic and Mayhem - Hemlock and Halloween [fear]!

Dragons and Creation

The King Arthur legends link with knights slaying dragons which takes us to Dagon -- DNA and Gods from the Sea of Creation.

Metaphors: Knight - night - the void - darkness or chaos from which creation is formed. Dragon = human DNA. The dragon breaths fire = flame of creation - source of light - soul sparks. The knight slays the dragon as human consciousness returns to the light. King Arthur's Knights - The Round Table - Round = completion - Table = Wood or the Earth plane in the Tree of Life.

Dragons have been a part of myth and stories as long as time has been. They are a part of most fairy tales as well and stories of Knights fighting Dragons abound through the ages.

This takes us back to the Babylonian priests, who wrote wrote that, before light separated from darkness and time began, the god Marduk slew his dragon forebear Tiamat, enemy of order. In the depths of the void, Marduk pursued and caught Tiamat, and he split her great body asunder.

In the apocryphal coda to the Old Testament book Daniel, History of Bel and the Dragon (c. first century BC), Daniel slew a great dragon, which they of Babylon worshipped. (v. 23) And so the dragon had become a type for evil, for the enemy of God, and a battle with the dragon became a struggle of good over evil, of life over death.

All across the ancient world, people sopke of dragons when they spoke of first things - and India was no exception. Holy men of that land said that the world was supported by Sesha, an eleven-headed serpentine creature whose title was Ananta, meaning the Endless One. Far from being an agent of disorder, as most dragons were, Ananta served Vishnu, the Lord of the Universe, offering its long back as a couch when the god chose to sleep.

According to Norse belief, an immense, unseen tree called Yggdrasil stretched from the vault of heaven to the depth of hell. A dragon named Nidhoggr gnawed perpetually at the roots, seeking to destroy the order of creation, but the order had a battalion of defenders. Three godlike beings called Norns sat calmly near the dragon at the roots, spinning the threads of mortal fate. Stags browsed at the tree and watered the Earth with dew from their antlers. A goat that chewed the tree's bark provided mead as milk for mortal heroes who would rid the world of the dragon race. Of the birds that perched in Yggdrasil's branches, the greatest was the eagle - a steadfast dragon enemy that sang forever of creation and destruction.

The eggs of China's dragons lay near riverbanks for a thousand years. Their cracking brought furious storms, and as wind and rain raged, small snakes emerged. These grew rapidly into wingless dragons that took to the air by aid of magical crests on their foreheads.

In the centuries of their ascendancy, dragons occasionally ravaged Europe's towns with flame. One marvelous clear sunshine day, an account from Germany begins, the people of Sanctogoarin - a small town on the Rhine - saw soaring above them a mighty winged dragon. Its tail lashed the sky, and when the beast disappeared, fires sprang up spontaneously all over town. Nothing could quench the crackle of the flames; the dragon was the town's undoing. Because of disasters like this, the belief grew that dragons flying in daylight signified great and fearful fires to follow.

Though generally revered elsewhere in ancient Egypt, at Edfu and Dendera the crocodile is the subject of ritual slaying in temple scenes. [The Crocodile god was Sobek.] The rituals of these "anti-crocodile" cults are an easy fit into the story of Horus and his struggle for kingship against Seth.

The final destruction represents victory over chaos and evil. The scene above (from the exterior of the Edfu naos, east wall, first register) shows the king driving his falcon-headed spear into the head of a crocodile as Horus extends to him a khepesh sword. The king is wearing a hemhemty-crown, worn for war and destruction. The relief is accompanied by a text to be spoken:

I hold my harpoon! I grasp my spear-shaft! Heir of the Lord of Mesen am I! I embark on my boat near the Lake of Horus and I drive back the steps of all "Those who are in the water." [...] the "hidden ones," I cut to pieces "Burning Mouths."

The "burning mouths," or more literally "hot mouths," originally referred to venomous serpents that bite with fiery poison. Horus of Edfu is depicted standing atop a crocodile, spearing it in the head. The accompanying text reads:

And behold, the enemies of Re having transformed themselves into crocodiles and hippopotamuses hurled themselves into the water. And while Re-Harakhti was seated [in his boat] and sailing over the water, the crocodiles and the hippopotamuses came nigh, and opened wide their jaws in order to destroy their enemy Re-Harakhti. Then Horus Behedety made haste and came up, with his followers behind him, armed with metal weapons, each one by name having an axe, a spear, and a chain in hand. They speared the crocodiles and the hippopotamuses, and there were brought in forthwith six-hundred and fifty-one rebel-fiends, and they were slain opposite to the city of Edfu.

Ezekiel

My friend, UFO researcher, Harold Egeln, sent me an update to his website. Harold, as you may recall, lives a few blocks from here, and works as a mild mannered reporter for a local newspaper, The Home Reporter. Harold also runs a UFO group called S.P.A.C.E. Harold and I are connected in many ways, after having met in June 1989 at a MUFON meeting in Manhattan. We are born in the same year - Aquarius and Leo. His 'guide' is a gray alien, he calls ZM. We both have interests linked with 'time'.

Normally, I post Harold's updates on Ezine, without mentioning them here, but today an image he included in his email, caught my eye, as it seems to bring together several themes from this week's columns. Ezekiel looks like the Roman god Jupiter [see below 'Jupiter in Scorpio'] Now look at the fallen entity ... it held the same energy of the entity in the image of me and Noah, below - Elohim, Gods from the Bible, Genesis [genetics - biogenetic eXperiment].

So who is Ezekiel - with the EZ name? Ezekiel is the Prophet of the Hebrew Scriptures. His greatest miracle consisted in his resuscitation of the dead, which is recounted in chapter 37 [10=1=Rebirth] of the Book of Ezekiel. Read More I found Ezekiel to be a colorful character in Z's game - Metaphors in Time. Linking from that file I found a List of names referring to 'El'.

November 9, 2005 -- I exchanged emails with Jeff Westover who created the beautiful cover art for "Alien Scriptures", seen at the top of this page. The entity that I saw as a bird, is actually a bearded old man - the Old Testament prophet Elijah - being taken skyward by a flying saucer. As I looked at the image again - I could see Jeff's translation. Non-the-less the image stirs my soul - and a frequency connection to the entity. I searched Elijah -- "Elijah - Standard Hebrew 'Eliyyahu', Tiberian Hebrew 'Eliyyahu', is a prophet of the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament." I had to laugh, as my Hebrew name is 'Eliyyahu'. Reality is a game of illusion, delusion, perception and deception.

Ezekiel and UFO's took me to my file UFO's in Earth's history mentioning Ezekiel - and Wheels within Wheels - the spheres of the Qabbalah which are the harmonics of creation - which takes us to Synchronicity and Carl Jung - and the Wheel of Karma - all good files to review.

Ezekiel saw a vision of dry bones returning to life (Ezekiel 37). "When Nebuchadnezzar deported the first group of Jerusalem leaders in 597 B.C., Ezekiel the priest was carried into exile in Babylon. Ezekiel saw the glory of God depart from the Jerusalem Temple because of the people's worship of other gods. When Ezekiel's wife died, he bore his grief silently to show the exiles how to bear the loss of Jerusalem. Later he saw a vision of dry bones coming back to life as a sign that God would give new life to the people. The last visions in his book describe an ideal Temple and the return of God's glory to Israel. These visions are recounted in the book of Ezekiel." Lots of metaphors here. The image of skeleton bones returns us to Halloween - October 31 - 10/31 - new beginnings beyond time - 10/31 = 5 - feminine goddesses energies return.

On Halloween we often address superstitions and how they affect what we do. In the old days, these beliefs systems were far more prevalent than they are today, as people let go of old paradigms, religious beliefs, and things that create fear factor and generally aren't true. They are part of control issues, in a time when we seek to rid ourselves of outmoded belief systems that have long controlled human thinking. The higher your frequency, the more you would not believe in anything that grounds your frequency to our third dimensional grid experiment. Superstitions are generally part of fear and ignorance.

We often create supersitions about things in our lives, that are personal to us, though not part of traditional superstitions. Many things can overlap into the term 'superstition', especially along the line of astrology, when a specific aspect in one's chart can cause unusal behavior; ie... an astrologer friend, who reads her chart every day, told me that a certain aspect highlighted in her chart last week - linked to having an accident. As a result she spent the day at home, fearing the worst. By thinking she will have an accident, she could easily manifest it, no matter where she is. She did not have an accident. She has a bad back and has a fear of falling. As a result, she falls more often than the norm - having nothing to do with her back - a self-fulfilling prophecy, and injures herself badly each time. It's all about fear manifesting in physical reality.

It's always about adjusting your grid matrix for attraction and manifestation. You probably need to work on that. It's not about thinking things into reality - or using spells or tools - to that end - placing the power outside your grid - as many do with little results. It all goes to cause and affect and what you want to experience within the parameters of your DNA programming.

It's best to observe yourself as you move through life - as if an outsider - and see what you are attracting and why - what you feel you deserve and how you achieve it. Be practical based on your soul's profile of experiences here. Positive frequency experience are the way to go - high self-esteem and readiness to accept the good things into your life - no longer playing the victim in drama -- Psychology 101 - or 10101010 in the grid program.

As for Ellie and supersititions - as a child, I was brought up with the ususal ones - some linked to my Jewish heritage. As an adult, I discount them all, as they do not fit into the reality in which I exist - and pay attention to what my soul is guiding at the moment - detached from the emotional grid. When things are out of balance - I re-adjust my grid to best results. You can learn to do it too - just let go - allow - don't judge - and be 'in the moment'. You are part of the magician - find that part!

Halloween Superstitions
