Singling Out One child in the Family For Abuse

Did you ever wonder why some parents will single out one child for abuse, physical, emotional, or sexual, and leave the other children alone? I suppose in metaphysics one can reason that it goes to the karma between that child and the abusive parent, past/parallel lives, etc. You canŐt blame everything on past life relationships or someone being cursed.

The dynamics between each child and those who raise them, various with many factors usually related to the parent who abuses. Always the parent as out of control emotional problems and may live in denial.

There are other factors to consider:

The reasons are endless and the child should not be raised by the parent.

I will never forget the first year I started reading professionally. I was teaching in a local public school. A female teacher came for a reading feeling she was about to have a breakdown and was abusing her oldest daughter, age 7, while the other daughter, age 4, was left untouched, at least physically. Mentally scarring would be there for both children for the rest of their lives. The father of the children had moved to Florida. They never married. At the end of the school year she had a breakdown was placed in a mental health facility, losing custody of both children. Two years later she came for another reading and spoke about her breakdown and the loss of both children. Diagnosed with bipolar and rage disorders she was on medication and hoping I would see the return of her children, who now lived with a nice family in Long Island. It never happened as the children were happy in their new surroundings and did not want to return to her. Years later, when the children were older, she got supervised visitation. She is a victim as are many others.

People with unrecognized, undiagnosed and therefore untreated personality disorders, generally overlooked, or not addressed, by their parents who abused them, unable to cope, have extremely difficult lives, especially as their seek love and caretakers. Often they sabotage those who come to help them, as they feel unworthy, and follow family genetic patterning. It truly is a vicious cycle. As awareness expands, help can be found.
