The Great American Shutdown of 2025

2025 United States Federal Government Shutdown   Wikipedia

Thursday 11/13/25 - The longest government shutdown is over

Monday 11/10/25 - As Americans feel the effects of the longest government shutdown in US history - and we approach the start of the holiday season - this morning I woke up to what might be a crack in the wall of political deadlock.

Though I briefly mentioned the shutdown since it began - I've watched it snowball into something that one way or another affects most Americans.

We know the deal ... If Trump doesn't get his way - his sociopathic nature presents no problem for him letting Americans suffer as he manipulates them like pawns on a chessboard.

If you are used to living with a narcissistic sociopath - usually a male - someone who has dictated your life to accept his truth as the path to salvation - then someone like Trump is believable almost as an extension of that person. It's like living in a cult - with the leader brainwashing you and others to his version of the truth. Trump has been compared to a cult leader or a mafia boss, especially given his NY roots. I'd say it's a bit of both as he sees himself omnipotent amid today's malleable reality.

Some believe the shutdown is merely a diversion from the Epstein files - and maybe they're right. But I see it as a battle for money and power, part of Trump's relentless quest to rule unchecked, facing only a divided Democratic Party as his leading opposition.

From federal workers lining up at food banks to small businesses losing revenue - with Small Business Saturday just over two weeks away - the ripple effects have been profound - and only seem to be getting worse as Trump's administration tightens its grip.

Families are struggling to cover rent and basic expenses, while critical programs - from SNAP and housing assistance - remain in limbo.

It's as if in some cruel and unforgivable way Trump is punishing the American people for not getting his way. He even said as much, when he came into office and launched the tariff system - which, as most Americans now understand, was an aggressive attack on the economy and illegal without the consent of Congress.
Tariffs =Taxes on Americans.

With Mercury Retrograde (November 9-29) - (transportation and communication) in full force - most Americans have read about and/or personally experienced the effects of the shutdown on transportation, especially at airports.

Delays, cancellations, airline incidents, and mounting frustration are now part of the travel landscape as we head into the busy holiday season.

Analysts predict record numbers of vehicles on the road this year as travelers opt for the perceived reliability of driving over the unpredictability of air travel. But with fuel prices fluctuating and winter weather adding another layer of uncertainty, the nation's highways could become their own test of patience. AAA estimates that travel times could double in major metro areas, with peak congestion expected the day before Thanksgiving.

Whether by air, land, or rail - this year's holiday travel season seems to reflect a broader truth. Americans are navigating not only crowded airports and highways, but a collective sense of awareness and weariness about how broken things are.

Yet amid America's journey - there forever lies an undercurrent of determination to reach a given destiny - one that transcends politics and circumstance.

When you watch Hallmark holiday romcoms - the journey always brings adventures as souls find each other - or reconnect with a love once lost. But those are scripted scenarios that follow the same formula much like that of the human journey. Repetitions in Time since ACT I.
Mercury Retrograde = Repetitions and delays.

The many identities of Mercury, Hermes, Merlin the Magician, the Trickster ... and more

The term "Hermetic Seals" originally comes from
Hermes Trismegistus and implies something sealed in a way that nothing can get in or out ... until the end of ACT III.

On February 2, 2025 Trump said in reference to his tariff-policy agenda, "Will there be some pain? Yes, maybe and maybe not! ... But we will Make America Great Again, and it will all be worth the price that must be paid. Americans will experience short-term pain but reap long-term gains." That, and his lilting voice when he tries to convince people of something - echo through everything he says and does to win favor. He probably used that same technique on his parents and it worked.

Hopefully the Great American Shut Down of 2025 will end with the feature issue of healthcare finding a meaningful compromise - and as Trump seems to surmises - the American people will be grateful for whatever little he provides without further debate. That sounds like the mindset of a narcissistic despot.

So on we go to another week of following the shutdown storyline and focusing on things that spike in our personal consciousness grids to explore in 'right time'.

Patience is the key to navigating what's unfolding today in every aspect of life. From the greater understanding that everything has been written and rewritten through time - to the journeys we take near or far, ancient or present day - each set in motion as an emotional experience - or rollercoaster ride filled with challenges, learning lessons, and ultimately understanding.

Let's not forget that there are many meanings assigned to the word "shutdown" - from the end of something we are living through to the simulation in which we vicariously experience that is on the verge of shutting down.
