I remember my father fondly with lots of love, always there for me. Many people say those were simpler times ... maybe so but I prefer today's world with its technological advances and fast pace. Parenting, like everything else in physical reality, comes with a price - the hits and misses and mistakes we make along the way. I know it's not always easy to be a good father in today's madcap world but as with everything else, all anyone can do is the best they can do.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandads, and pseudo-dads reading this. The best presents ... a hug and saying, "I love you". To the children separated from their dads due to recent immigration laws and other things, though your life is in chaos, somewhere out there your dad knows you love and care about him and wishes things were different.

My father, Murray, was born in 1910, the fifth of ten children born to Jewish immigrants who migrated across Europe from Russia to finally make their way here. He was the first member of his family to be born in the Unites States.
