Chalcomancy

Chalcomancy, from the Latin calix, meaning 'communion cup', it is a form of divination, in this case by listening to the sounds and tones made by striking metal bowls or chalices with special mallets. Usually the bowl or chalice is made out of brass or copper, but other metals can also be used. Chalcomancy was a very popular Tibetan method of divining the past, the present, and future.
