Tornadoes, Lucid Dreams, Ellie's Adventures in Oz

Tuesday, July 21, 2026 ... Storms flood roads, brought down trees across NYC area for 2nd time in a week. This was accompanied by ongoing warnings of a tornado alert - always anxiety provoking as they can destroy everything in their wake. The fact that thre tornadoes had already touchdown in New Jersey was not at all comforting to neighboring states.

I've taken many pics from my terrace at this angle but none that show the Brooklyn arch of the Verrazano Bridge appearing to be falling over. Even some of the buildings in the pic above, seem more like Escher sketches than reality as we experience it.

Tornadoes always remind me of spiraling consciousness - in and out of realities. Then there's the parallel with Dorothy's experience in the "Wizard of Oz" as a tornado moves her consciousness from physical reality to a dreamworld or illusion.

Around 8:00 last night I fell asleep - or should I say it was pulled out of my Ellie consciousness to the other side. I wasn't particularly tired, and not sick, but experience has taught me to go with it as my consciousness changes focus from this reality to the grids that create the illusion.

My final thought before 'leaving' here - was to use whatever powers I have over the weather to make sure my neighborhood was safe. There are people who can "work the weather" - myself and two other members of my family among them. The only time it doesn't work is if the weather event has to occur for an outcome we are not aware of.

Wednesday morning

I was (gone) asleep until 5:00 this morning when my wake-up dream found me somewhere out there with Judy Garland loudly singing, "Somewhere over the Rainbow" to the world smiling knowingly at each other before my consciousness spiraled back into my physical body.

I immediately understood it to mean ... humanity was finally waking up from the dream.

Tornadoes always remind me of spiraling consciousness - in and out of realities. Then there's the parallel with Dorothy's experience in the "Wizard of Oz" as a tornado moves her consciousness from physical reality to a dreamworld or illusion.

I walked to the window and looked out. The ground was dry and the trees appeared undisturbed. Apparently nothing disastrous had happened in my area of Bay Ridge. Whew! Yes, I know I am protected but sometimes you just have to double check.

Seated at my computer, Z told me to check Crystalinks' search engine for things I've blogged about the "Wizard of Oz". We laughed when I read this blog from 2019 - The Wizard of Oz 80 years Later. In one version of the story, Alice was renamed, Ellie.

As to last night's storm ... the sky at sunrise over Bay Ridge was overcast with what appeared to be smoke from Canadian wildfires.

Google reported ... New York is still experiencing haze and elevated pollution from Canadian wildfire smoke today, though conditions have modified from last week's severe peaks. The color of the wildfire smoke reminds me of sepia.

See you around Judy ... Over your rainbow and my bridge.

Thanks for the memory. You gotta have Hope (1938)!
