Quote: Like me, Jean-Luc has lived an unusual life that has taken him far beyond the bounds of normal human experience. But he is also someone who has remained true to his earthbound roots, for they are what gave him his identity. In the end, he feels the call of home, just as do I.

Q (John De Lancie) was my favorite character of the Star Trek franchise. It was his omnipotence and mischievous side that drew me to him. I enjoyed him best with Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) but together with Jean-Luc they created absolute television magic. ~ Ellie

The 35-year relationship between Jean-Luc Picard and the omnipotent entity Q is one of the most complex, defining dynamics in the Star Trek franchise. What began as an adversarial clash between a godlike judge and a defiant human captain eventually evolved into a profound, deeply personal bond of mutual respect, mentorship, and cosmic affection.
