Many people said they were going to move out of the US if Trump was reelected - but very few did for different reasons - mostly because they didn't know where to go and didn't want to leave family, friends, doctors, and all that was familiar and brought them peace of mind in the past.
The world is rapidly changing and as we know - not always for the better. The US is going through a major transformation headed by two men with emotional problems and ego issues.
In the bigger picture of 'closure' their policies seem like a means to an end - with humans 'wanting out' whatever that means to them.
Added to the political landscape we find global climate change, natural disasters, and affordability ... so where does one go? Many US retirees are looking to move abroad ... The countries mentioned in this article have their own share of serious issues. Fun to visit but not to live.
If you're reading this, you know there are no longer safe havens with near-perfect climates, governments, and freedoms. History has taught us that it will all turn around - but not this time. Human programming has been gradually showing people the truth in that.
For some, climate change is forcing the issue especially in the south where people go who can't live in cold climates anymore. So let's talk about heat and humidity.
With climate change accelerating - the planet is warming above temperatures that are survivable. In a recent survey of how people are more likely to die - from heat or from cold - the resounding answer is ... heat.
This takes us to air conditioning and the power grids that provide electricity. If you're used to be able to regulate the temperature in your home - and extreme heat makes you sick - which is true for most seniors - that becomes a major consideration on where to move.
This in turn takes us to drought and wildfires and their aftermath. A Red Flag Warning was issued for nearly all of eastern Florida, from Daytona Beach to Miami, on Thursday as wildfires burned over 14,000 acres across the state
Is there a place to go if you're lucky enough to have the resources to move out of country? Are those resources based on the stock market and other things that could tank under the Trump administration?
What's left to do after the past week showed us that bigger and badder tornadoes and other storms are dismantling the country? Cross-country storm leaves at least 42 dead and vast destruction from tornadoes, wildfires and dust storms
There really is nothing you can do but plan in case of flooding and other weather events that usually hit your area.
Keep supplies updated as we watch the effect of Trump's tariffs which will change the economy even if he cancels them in the short term.
We are losing friends and allies and the way we do business with the rest of the world - not to mention the wars that rage on in the Middle East and Europe where compromise will only be temporary because of ideological differences and the need for power and control from the autocrats which now include Trump and perhaps Musk.
Here in the US there will come a breaking point when all hell breaks which could give rise to the overthrow of Trump and his loyalists especially as Steve Bannon said this week, Trump is planning a third term. Remember when Trump said that once he returns to power he will never leave. For now a coterie of Trump loyalists is in the early phase of a campaign to rewrite the Constitution so he can serve another term.
