Horse Racing, Ice Cream, and the Kentucky Derby

My friend Leslie's son Randy Sarf is an entrepreneur known for his strong opinions and bold decisions. Randy is the owner of New York's Hildebrandt's Ice Cream Parlor on Long Island. The family owns racehorses - the most famous, Farbridge - who I blogged about in the past. Randy also has a podcast called Horse Whisperer.

One of his horse racing buddies and customers is a jockey, also from Long Island, named Junior Alvarado, who won the Kentucky Derby Saturday. Randy sponsored Alvardo who proudly wore the Hildebrandt label for the race. Last night they were featured in a short segment on the 6:00 News on NBC.

I'm looking forward to the Preakness on May 17, 2025.
