In the age of technology when two people meet online or if others set them up - the next step is Zoom or Facetime to know if the person matches the profile and if you connect energetically. It saves lots of time and money. It's also easiest to express whether or not you want to move forward after you've zoomed while you're in your own safe environment.
After a few sessions on zoom - watching body language and listening - people already know if it's worth physically meeting.
Google the person to find out more. It's not about the person you are meeting being crazy - it's just whether or not the two of you will be compatible or if this will develop into a relationship of issues which people are so tired of these days.
State your case ... do you want a friendship, to hook up, or seek a serious relationship if you have the time and energies for it. Be real about that.
Remember that long distance relationships generally don't work because people have roots in their hometown - meaning family, friends, career, etc. Getting together involves planning often with flight schedules and things that create stress. Fun in the beginning but not the long term.
Getting to know someone new through texting is not the best way to go. Phone calls take us to emotions which some people don't want to address. They find it easier to have a text conversation - though messages are often misconstrued. You decide.
After working with male clients who have wasted a lot of money taking blind dates to dinner - the next logical step would just be to meet at a casual not-too-expensive venue such as a coffee shop.
