A meteor crashed through Earth's atmosphere Tuesday (July 16) morning, creating loud booms that resounded over parts of New York City and New Jersey, NASA reported. Preliminary estimates initially suggested the meteor was traveling northeast and passed over the Statue of Liberty around 11:17 a.m. ET descending at speeds of 38,000 mph. The meteor was small, likely no more than 1 foot (0.3 meters) in diameter, It turned into a fireball due to the heat generated by its high speed. You expect to see meteors at night but not during the day, so this is a rare daylight fireball. No fragments of the space rock reached the ground - and there were no reports of damage or injuries related to the event.

While looking at the trajectory map I noticed the fireball passed not far from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ where he spends a good deal of time. This took me to the April 5, 2024 - New Jersey 4.8 Earthquake - the epicenter in Tewksbury less than 7 miles from Trump's home. Coincidence? Maybe. I sense something not as yet realized.
