Autumn in New York can be spectacular when the elements come together and engage with your imagination. Today I walked down 4th Avenue simply to take in the fall colors of the tree-lined streets. Thought Halloween is over, many homes still feature decorations that will soon give way to Christmas decor.

Shifting position beneath the tree - the lens caught the sunlight at a different angle that stirs the imagination through the dense autumn canopy into a dramatic, piercing Sunstar or Sunburst, throwing razor-sharp rays across the camera's frame.

.

The third and final pic created an effect called a Solar Halo - or 22° Sun Halo - a massive, luminous ring of light perfectly centered around the sun, refracted by millions of microscopic ice crystals high above the clouds.

With this being Native American Heritage Month - the Solar Halo reminded me of the Big Horn Medicine Wheel I visited years ago when I was studying about Native American Cultures.

Life seemed simpler in those days and definitely safer as I drove through different states with Z. We were often joined by another spirt guide who told me his name was White Feather. When he showed up one would find beautiful white feathers everywhere. Now that I think about it, lately I have been finding feathers. I attribute that to birds naturally losing and replacing their feathers now as part of their late-summer and fall molting season.

Further, small white feathers seem to float by my window all the time swaying back-and-forth in front of me, especially when I have clients. Very cool. Am I looking for a specific message from Z or White Feather? No. What they represent to me is a feeling of protection and confirmation as we move closer to closure and the knowing that what we came here to experience is soon in the sense of linear time or perhaps happened already when outside of time and we are catching up to it.

Core Spiritual Meanings

Wholeness and Eternity: The unbroken circular shape represents infinity, unity, and a complete cycle with no beginning and no end.

Divine Presence and Protection: Many view the ring as a sign of heavenly favor, divine light shining down, or angelic protection watching over the Earth.

Spiritual Awakening and Transformation: It is often interpreted as a signal of a major energy shift, a prompt for inner clarity, or an invitation to align your perspective from a higher viewpoint.

Hope and Guidance: Seen during times of uncertainty, the ring is traditionally interpreted as a beacon of optimism and a reminder that light persists even through storms.

Cultural and Traditional Interpretations

Indigenous and Native Traditions: Some natives view full-circle solar rainbows as sacred signs of coming global unity, peace, and healing among all people.

Biblical and Christian Perspectives: Some Christian perspectives associate the halo with God's grace, divine illumination, or a call to gratitude and reflection.

General Consensus: Some believe a sun halo acts as a spiritual bridge between heaven and earth, symbolizing heightened awareness and protective energy.
