Election Day November 8, 2022

Election Day (United States) Wikipedia - In the News

4:00 AM - There is a first time for everything. After 31 years of living in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn - my top floor apartment overlooking the Verrazano Bridge with its incredible sunsets and Atlantic adventures - this morning at 4:30 the night sky put on a spectacular show worth getting up early to capture. Z (spirit) had told me to go out on the terrace and seize the moment. Due to city lights I never get to see stars particularly over the Verrazano Bridge with its bright lights but there they were today as if waiting for me - while nearby I got to film and watch the Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse on the western horizon - still underway as I sit here.

At 4:30 this morning Z woke me up - told me to bundle up - go out on the terrace with my phone/camera where I will finally get to see stars over the Verrazano Bridge - something I've wanted to do since I moved to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on 9/1/91 - but always obscured by city lights. As the city slept I finally captured them. My celestial experience was further enhanced by the Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse - my first eclipse ever - and here I am having a front row seat. Brilliant. I'm back inside sitting at my desk watching the eclipse as it peaks and the moon is blocked. It's the start of a new day that speaks to me of so many things. What's written in the stars about the outcome of today's elections in the US? Many are deal breakers because "Time is running out".

The Road Taken

Tuesday 5:00 PM - Denim weather - my favorite. At the end of the day I got to spend time with friends then voted on my way home. I know how important the issues are that face Americans today but most reset themselves in time. Most important to me is women's issues which highlight with reproductive rights. We need a Federal Law that codifies Roe v Wade. Where does the road go from here?

Friday - Control of U.S. Senate, House are still unknown with key midterm races too close to call. The fact that so many races are still too early to call underscores how far short Republicans have fallen in their goal of building a red wave.
