Dame Maggie Smith died peacefully Friday morning at age 89. She was a national treasure with multiple awards who created memorable onscreen characters while in private life avoided the limelight. Who could forget her performances in the Harry Potter series and more recently Downton Abbey (2010-2015) - among others.
