Jennifer Lopez cancels tour to be with family: 'I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel that it was absolutely necessary'   CNN - May 31, 2024

When Ben and Jen rekindled their romance in 2021, I didn't anticipate that they would actually marry because I knew it wouldn't last. Jen is a romantic with extremely high energy who needs a man who can function at her level. She is bubbly with positive energy and loves the limelight.

Ben on the other hand is a recovering alcoholic, whereas Jen does not drink. Alcoholism is part of mental illness most likely depression. When I look in his eyes, they always seem vacant to me, perhaps from medication or something else that makes Ben and Jen very different. When I see them together, he never really seems present because he hates all the PR.

All of this would not make them compatible for any length of time. Once again, they were caught up in romance, but then reality kicked in. They simply are in different places in their lives.

Then there is the effects on their children. In a recent picture Ben's, daughter, shaved her head and died her hair bright red or orange. It's hard to tell. Jen has mentioned that her twins are now 16 which means they are going to act out and have a mind of their own. Lots of issues that they probably tried to resolve with the family and therapy but alas, recent pictures have shown Ben moving into a house of his own. Last June they allegedly paid $61 million (in cash!) for a new Beverly Hills mega-mansion.

Perhaps it's true that money can't buy happiness - neither can sentimentality when mixed with issues, too many blended families pre and during their time together, and personality disorders/differences.

With all of this taking its toll on everyone - Jen canceled her 34-city tour "This is Me ... Live" - to be with her children. I had also read that ticket sales were low for the tour - which was scheduled to start at the end of June.

So on Jen goes to the next chapter of her life, hopefully taking a break from men and work. Hopefully Ben will not start drinking again, but you never know - or has he already.

Everyone means well, but too much - too soon - too late.

Relationships are never easy.

Two months later ...August 25, 2024

Last week Jen filed for divorce. Ben bought a new home near Jennifer Garner and their children - no plans to reconcile that relationship.

I wasn't going to blog about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez again - but I just found this article from People Magazine confirming my prior posts. Ben Affleck's 'Mood Swings' with 'Big Highs and Big Lows' Contributed to Divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

Ben Affleck is a recovering alcoholic which means the likelihood that he has mood swings and is bipolar is a given - a genetic pattern recognized today in most societies - making it almost impossible to maintain a balanced relationship.

Benifer 2.0 was over before it began. When they rekindled their relationship - I blogged that it wasn't going to work because of his emotional problems and the fact that she needs the limelight.

Jen is addicted to romantic love and passion ... being swept off her feet by a strong lover which we all know lasts just so long.

Jen's energies are very powerful and high functioning. Ben's are simply depressive and deflated. He would never be able to keep up.

Ben, in photos with Jen, always looked zoned out and wanting to run the other way. I assumed he was on some sort of medication to keep him balanced - but I recognize that blank expression of mental illness and disconnect when I see it.

Inevitably their issues would collide no matter how much they care about each other. There's simply too much baggage that's not going anywhere. I'm sure both will be romantically linked to others pre-and post their marriage - but marrying again is not likely for either one - and to be honest "it's not that important today".

It takes a lot for anyone to be mentally functional in today's world with its never-ending challenges and addictions. Some people are lucky to that end - programmed for a balanced life. Others find temporary solutions - going day to day seeking a way out. Of what? Their programming of course .. or did you forget that we exist in a simulation programmed for emotional value.
