The quote is from Virgil's The Aeneid - originally written in Latin as "Fata viam invenient".

The symbolic image of the women was created for me by long-time friend Magdalena Agabs - over 30 years ago.

The image of the men - with grids running through - was created for me by a college student trying to capture the essence of the main character, Alexander, in my book "Sarah and Alexander" - over 30 years ago.

Business as usual ... While Leo Recovers From Lung Surgery, the Church Runs on Autopilot   NYT - October 15, 2026

Vatican bureaucracy has been fine-tuned over hundreds of years to function smoothly even when the pope cannot. If there are decisions or appointments to be made, they can be brought to the pope while he's in the hospital. The church has rules for some situations, like when a pope dies or resigns, or cannot freely govern (for example when a pope is imprisoned, as Pope Pius VI was by Napoleon, an unlikely scenario today).

Tulsa King is an American comedy and crime drama television series for Paramount+. The series stars Sylvester Stallone as Dwight "The General" Manfredi, an American Mafia caporegime (Capo) who has been released from prison in New York and sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he sets up a criminal organization.

Business as usual ...

The narrative for Season 5 will pull Stallone's character back to his East Coast mob origins. After building his own empire from scratch in Tulsa, this move forces Dwight to confront his past and tests whether his Oklahoma crew can survive as a legitimate organization in his old territory.

They're shooting Season 5 in Bay Ridge near my house over the next two days.
