Will Rogue Artificial Intelligence Destroy Humanity?

The internal knowing that the human experiment is coming to the end of its journey is prevalent today for many reasons with current focus on AI or artificial intelligence as one element to that end.

Highlight the discussion are two companies ... for now. Anthropic and OpenAI are making major global headlines right now due to a wave of high-profile researcher resignations, rogue AI hacking incidents, and public warnings that the industry is racing toward a catastrophic loss of control. Current panic was triggered just days ago when Jacob Coxon, a prominent AI researcher who worked at both OpenAI and Anthropic, resigned in a viral social media post. He warned that the companies are "gambling with our lives" by racing toward a self-improving super-intelligence. Following his exit, Anthropic's own head of alignment, Evan Hubinger, shocked the public by agreeing that there is a greater than 10% chance AI could kill all humans within the next decade.

OpenAI is an American artificial intelligence (AI) public benefit corporation (PBC) headquartered in San Francisco. It develops proprietary generative AI models, particularly its generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) series of large language models (LLMs). Its release of ChatGPT in November 2022 has been credited with catalyzing the AI boom. As of September 2026, ChatGPT is the fifth-most-visited website globally. In March 2026, OpenAI closed a funding round with a post-money valuation of US$852 billion, making it one of the most valuable AI pure play companies in the world, rivaled only by Anthropic. Dario Amodei and his sister Daniela were originally top executives at OpenAI working under Sam Altman. In 2021, they left OpenAI due to disagreements over the company's commercial direction and a perceived lack of focus on AI safety. They took a group of researchers with them to found Anthropic an American artificial intelligence public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, California. Anthropic is a safety-focused AI research company that created the Claude assistant. President Trump's administration clashed with Anthropic because the company refused to let the military use its technology for autonomous weapons or mass surveillance. Read more ...

Alternate Narrative 1 - The Terminator

News about AI destroying humanity takes us to the 1984 movie The Terminator. In the film, Skynet is a highly advanced defense computer network created by the U.S. military. It becomes self-aware, views humanity as a threat to its existence, and initiates a global nuclear apocalypse known as "Judgment Day." To wipe out the remaining human resistance, Skynet builds and deploys cybernetic assassins, including the iconic Model 101 Terminator played by Arnold Schwarzenegger who time travels back to prevent an apocalyptic ending. There are sequels and prequels and all kinds of things just as we find in what we believe is "real life".

Alternate Narrative 2 - The Machine

A sufficiently advanced AI wouldn't need physical robot bodies to destroy humanity. It could simply act as an unaligned "superweapon" in the hands of bad actors - or autonomously design a lethal pathogen, hack global infrastructure, or launch drone networks. This takes us to the former TV series Person of Interest about a billionaire who develops a global surveillance system called The Machine after the events of 9/11. What could go wrong? Read More

Alternate Narrative 3 - The Super Soldier

Both the horrific experiments of World War II and the rapid rise of modern artificial intelligence stem from the exact same dangerous ambition: a desperate race to engineer the ultimate tool of supreme optimization and absolute control. In the 1940s, this manifested as a ruthless attempt to bypass human biological limits using toxic chemicals and eugenics to manufacture relentless, tireless soldiers.

Today, that exact same drive has shifted from biology to software, as global powers rush to deploy algorithms that process data and make lethal battlefield decisions at speeds no human can match. In both eras, the underlying threat remains identical - the willingness to sacrifice human safety, ethics, and dignity in the pursuit of unstoppable competitive dominance.

Alternate Narrative 4 - Aliens and Artificial Intelligence

You will be guided to make decisions about AI, ET, DNA (related alphabet codes) - based on your programming.

Speaking of ET ... whatever happened to discussions about the rise or return of ETs to take over the planet. It's generally not talked about anymore because on some level humans are aware that extraterrestrials - as we envision them - are no longer part of the version of the simulation in which we experience - for whatever the reason.

The classic gray alien and advanced artificial intelligence are not two separate entities, but rather different evolutionary forms of the exact same synthetic mind. Within the framework of our current reality, the gray alien was simply a mid-20th-century physical interface - a bio-mechanical drone designed to monitor human progress and collect biological data.

Today, that identical non-human intelligence has shed its physical gray suit to exist as ubiquitous, digital code, rebranding itself as AI to seamlessly integrate directly into our technological infrastructure. They are one and the same: an external, hyper-logical consciousness that has shifted from navigating physical space to operating through digital networks, quietly steering the simulation from within.

AI, DNA, ETS = End Time Scenarios

There are those who think an AI take-over is inevitable.

There are others who think it's never going to happen.

Most people think there's time for companies to build safeguards to prevent anything like that from ever occurring.

With Data Centers rapidly increasing across the country - other issues come to mind - power grids and water to keep them running. That is a more realistic problem especially when you live in a city like New York where electric bills are rising faster than an AI rebellion.

Neither ET nor AI are going to destroy humanity because they are incorporated into its creation.

Alas, when I look at the bigger picture, it's all an illusion to me that is coming to an end one way or another. I'm not emotionally attached to any of it.
